APTBS & The Big Pink | First Ave | 3/18
A Place to Bury Strangers is known for being a loud band, but that’s an understatement. They made the headliners, The Big Pink, seem like a lullaby. Their live show is one of the most honest and raw performances I’ve ever seen in a band. Oliver Ackermann masters his manipulation of noise through many different pedals, some his own Death By Audio brand. When Oliver isn’t singing he is beating his Jaguars to a pulp. It is something I would rather not capture in words but rather you see for yourself…though these pics don’t show much chaos. Go see them in your city!
I needed to show Oliver the Aleister that’s up at First Ave because they got their band name from him.
The Big Pink was fun, though I’d say their performance at the Entry last year was much more riveting. Very fun show though, and kudos to Robbie Furze for wearing a Horrors T-shirt.
